Current assumptions: 500W all-black solar panels, 28% household tax-rate assumption, starting electricity rates of $0.125/kWh for residential, $0.15/kWh for small general service, $0.10/kWh for medium general service, and $0.07/kWh for large general service, 4% annual electricity rate increase, 25-year lifetime savings, PVWatts location-specific annual production when available, fallback production of 1,140 kWh/kW, 15-year financing term, residential VanCity Planet Wise at 5.20%, business financing at 8%, 30° tilt, 180° south azimuth, 10% system losses, and simplified residential pricing. Lifetime savings are calculated as projected 25-year avoided hydro costs minus the estimated cost after rebate.
